The Nature Inn at Bald Eagle offers a peaceful and relaxing getaway surrounded by nature, with stunning lake and forest views. Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, delicious breakfasts, and opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and birdwatching. While some note its focus on a quieter, nature-oriented experience, it's a popular choice for families and those seeking a serene escape.
Took my wife here on an early 1 year anniversary trip, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Just a beautiful place, very peaceful and quiet from our back patio and all the areas and our room was perfectly clean. Just hearing all the nature and birds singing was extremely relaxing. We took a few walks throughout the lodge and just had such an enjoyable fantastic time. We used the outside grill to make dinner Saturday night together and that is a nice plus. Breakfast was wonderful and everybody was very polite and kind. Very highly recommend a weekend here. Well well worth it on all levels. Such a blessed weekend.
Very nice state run hotel. Not luxury, but clean, attractive, and with nice amenties like a fire pit and outdoor grills for guests. Very new with nice finishes (could be mistaken for a spa as you drive up, but decor is very nice but simple.) Only wish they'd allow alcohol (it's on a state park so no booze). Drive to lake and beaches is just minutes by car or bike. Breakfast is included but standard hotel free breakfast fare. Decent food and drinks are nearby in Bellefonte and Lock Haven. If you love nature, esp birds, and you want a quiet few days, this is a great spot.
Quiet location with views of the lake and forest. Opportunities for birdwatching, hiking, fishing, and watersports. Excellent breakfasts. No restaurant on site, however boxed lunches are available and the salads and sandwiches are really quite good.
A beautiful and very quiet relaxing place to stay. The views are spectacular. There are hiking trails all around. The staff is very kind, and the breakfast was delicious! We hope to be back again in the fall.
If you enjoy nature in The Great outdoors, this is the place to be. Each room is its own little sanctuary. The Inn is set in a state park. The grounds are beautiful. There are of places to hike, fish and boat.
My husband and I have taken our toddler here the last 2 years and it's been such a special experience. We live in Central PA but we don't get over toward Lock Haven too often, so staying at the Nature Inn for a long weekend and exploring the area is a treat. We love eagle watching and going down to the playground and "beach" with our kid, then sitting by the fire in the evening. The breakfasts are great, featuring fresh cut fruit, yogurt parfaits, rotating hot dishes like eggs and pancakes, and the coffee is available 24/7. The made-to-order lunches and dinners are delicious and the chef is friendly. We just love how homey this place feels — the staff has always exceeded our expectations with their kindness. The Inn even has a library/game room upstairs that I was able to sneak away to when I needed to get some work done after my family had gone to sleep one night. And a kids' library at the end of the downstairs hallway! We will definitely make the Nature Inn an annual tradition for our family.
For an older crowd. Expect lots of birding. The smell has to change. Get the Lakeside View, there is no Mountainside View. I enjoyed my stay but I was in the area again I wouldn’t return.
Nice bed also its so beautiful when you see the view from up here
A lovely, quiet getaway with very friendly staff, good food, and beautiful views.
Wonderful experience. Rooms are nice and everyone is so great there. Good is great.
